BUCHANA, May 7 (LINA) – The Head of the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) Of Grand Bassa County and resident of Corn Farm Community, Ms. Elizabeth Barwon has called on residents of the community to unite for the growth and development of the area.

Barwon said while some people may have qualms with the former community leadership, it is time that they come together and embrace the newly-elected officials for the good of the community.

The PIU official was speaking to the Liberia News Agency (LINA) in the county recently following the just-ended zonal and assistant zonal heads elections across the county.

She said the people of Grand Bassa have spoken through the ballot box and citizens of the county should respect the views of the people, bury the difficult past and live in peace and harmony.

Barwon disclosed that the just-ended zonal heads election was the first since the establishment of the community and lauded the chairman of the election commission for organizing a free, peaceful, fair, transparent and credible election.
