MONROVIA, May 7 (LINA) - Deputy House Speaker Hans Barchue says the delay in the passage of the Decent Work Bill ‘indicts’ the National Legislature.

 
Barchue, who described the issue of the Decent Work Bill as ‘important and overdue’, stressed the need for the Legislature to take practical action to ensure its passage without further delay.
 
He spoke Thursday, May 7, during deliberations on a letter the Liberia Labor Congress (LLC) sent to House Speaker J. Alex Tyler informing the lawmakers of a pending peaceful and orderly assembly at the Legislature to protest the delay in passing the Decent Work Bill into law.
 
The Deputy House Speaker assured that the House leadership will work closely with the leadership of the Liberian Senate to exert more efforts to fast-track the passage of the bill for the benefit of all Liberians, particularly the labor sector.     
 
Recently, Margibi County Senator Oscar Cooper frowned on delay on the part of the National Legislature to pass the Decent Work Bill into law.
 
Cooper told the ELBC radio talk show, ‘the Super Morning Show’ a fortnight ago that it was important to finally pass into law the bill which has been languishing at the National Legislature for five years.
