MONROVIA, May 8 (LINA) – Foreign Minister Augustine Ngafuan has vowed ensure that the stigmatization of Liberians as Ebola carriers is stopped after Saturday’s certification of Liberia by WHO as an Ebola-free nation.

 
He lamented that since the Ebola outbreak in 2014, many countries and airlines have denied Liberians courtesies only because they came from an Ebola affected country.
 
Ngafuan told a special press conference held at the Ministry of Information Friday that some countries were still not accepting Liberians, including students going for studies, in spite of the gains made against the killer virus.
 
He also noted the refusal of some companies to return to the country only because the country had not been declared Ebola free, adding, “I am overwhelmed that this country will be announced Ebola-free by the world’s health governing body on Saturday, May 9.”
 
“As part of protocol marking the National Day of Thanksgiving, WHO will present the certificate of Life to the head of the Incident Management System, Tolbert Nyenswah who will turn it over to former Health Minister Walter Gwenigale to forward it to President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf for a special address to Liberians and the world,” Ngufuan disclosed.
