Deputy Information Minister Andrew Tehmeh is challenging Liberians to make use of the Freedom of Information Act (FOI) in accessing relevant information from public and private institutions performing public services.

Tehmeh proffered the challenge at the recent Open Government Partnership platform (OGP) consultation held in Gbarnga, Bong County.

The OGP is intended to enhance the Open Budget Initiative with focus on the four thematic areas of citizens’ participation, accountability, integrity and transparency in the governance of Liberia.

It will also strive to widen existing openness of the government by allowing citizens to have their say in the decision-making process of the country.

The one-day consultation brought together local government officials including members of the disabled and youth communities from Bong, Lofa, Rivercess, Nimba and Gbarpolu counties.
