An official of Conservation International (CI), an American non-profit environmental organization, has said the group’s partnership with Liberia is endless.

CI Country Director Jessica Donovan Allen also sees the nation having a huge opportunity to be a model of sustainable development globally.

Allen told the Liberia News Agency recently that CI partnership with Liberia started in 2002 conducting environmental research, training in conservation and providing technical opportunities for several Liberian entities, including the Nimba County Community College in Sanniquellie, where its first sub-office is being established in the country.

Few years ago, CI signed a partnership agreement with Nimba’s fast-growing college to ensure practicals for students through conservation forums, internship, field trainings and scholarship programs for students studying Forestry and Natural Resource Management.

The entity also organizes education clubs and conducts training for instructors teaching Forestry and Natural Resource Management at the college, while working in partnership with government and local non-governmental organizations doing environmental preservation programs.

Country Director Allen called on Liberians to focus on sustainable development models that will transform the environment.

CI officially launched its first sub-office in the county located at the Nimba County Community College recently.
