(LINA) – The Director General of Liberia Institute of Public Administration (LIPA), Oblayon B. Nyemah, has revealed the production of a new training curriculum that reflects quality.
He said as the institute strives to improve the quality of service, it has also completed the validation of key policy and procedure documents and increased the number of training cycles per annum as well as improved the institute’s facilities.
Nyemah made the statement Wednesday when addressing a ceremony commemorating the institute’s 46th anniversary held at its compound in Mamba Point in Monrovia.
He said the gains are part of a five-year strategic plan, adding, “With the support of government and our international partners, we are on the path of achieving our targets.”
Nyemah noted that as a result of the Ebola pandemic LIPA ran only two cycles instead of three last year but was able to train over 2,000 persons in long and short terms professional, competency and customized training.
“As part of our achievements, we have conducted training for the Civil Service Agency, Liberia Revenue Authority, county authorities under the deconcentration and decentralization program, LPRC, and developed a five-year strategic plan for PMU-Liberia, among others,” Nyemah noted.
He lauded the World Bank for the recent donation of an 110kva generator and all other partners that have over the period supported LIPA in attaining the current gains.
Nyemah challenged employees of the entity to go beyond the call of duty and cooperate in improving on the quality of services LIPA delivers to the public.
LIPA was established on May 13, 1969 by an Act of the Legislature to provide training in manpower development, research and consultancy and information services to both public and private individuals desirous of taking advantage of its training opportunities.
