VP Boakai Pledges To Rehabilitate Voinjama Central Mosque

(LINA) – Vice President Joseph N. Boakai has promised to renovate the Voinjama Central Mosque which is currently in a dilapidated state.

He made the pledge in Voinjama City Sunday when he met with a cross section of Muslims at the Voinjama Central Mosque.

VP Boakai assured heads of the Muslim community that rehabilitation works on the mosque will commence once his office receives an estimate of the total cost of the work.

He then lauded the efforts of religious groups in in the county for their roles in the fight against Ebola and admonished them to continue to pray for the country and its people.

In response, the Chief Imam of Lofa County, Mohammed Varmuyan H. Sheriff thanked Vice President Boakai and the government for the continued support provided religious community across the country.

Imam Sheriff assured VP Boakai of the Muslim community’s commitment toward peace, unity and reconciliation, noting that these were the bedrock for the development of the county and the country.
