UL Appoints Two Assistant Professors As Deans

(LINA) -The President of the University of Liberia, Dr. Emmet A. Dennis, has appointed two Assistant Professors to serve as Associate Deans.

Assistant Professor and Chair of the Department of Civil Engineering, Augustus Siafa Moore, was appointed Associate Dean of the Engineering Division, while Assistant Professor D. Karfalah Johnson, former Chairman of the Department of Mathematics, was appointed Associate Dean of the Natural Sciences Division, Thomas J. R. Faulkner College of Science and Technology.

They were officially inducted into office on Wednesday, May 13, in the conference room of the Engineering Building on the Fendall Campus, according to a UL press release issued Monday.

The release signed by Mr. Norris Tweah, Vice President for UL Relations, said shortly before their induction, the Dean of the T. J. R. Faulkner College of Science and Technology, Prof. Dr. Ophelia Nez Weeks, challenged the appointees to take advantage of the opportunity provided them and serve their respective departments with distinction.

She also urged them to collaborate with other departmental heads to move the university forward.

In remarks, the Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. S. Momolu Getaweh, admonished the appointees to work assiduously and with commitment, noting: “Our task and responsibilities are to educate our children.”
