BARGBLOR TOWN, April 1 (LINA) - Bargblor Town in Gborbo Clan, Cavalla District in Grand Gedeh County, has dedicated its first health facility in 100 years, according to an official of the town.

Speaking at the dedicatory ceremony, Clan Chief Washington Gaye said the six-room clinic was a “milestone” in the century-old history of the town (1914-2014).

The new facility is located about 12 miles from Zai Town on the Tappita-Zwedru Highway.

Chief Washington Gaye said the extension of government health services to Bargblor Town will long be remembered by the people of the town for its historical nature and the services it will provide the town.

He thanked the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare for reaching out to the most-needy in terms of health care, noting that the proximity of the clinic will reduce the hardship the sick people and pregnant women go through in getting medical attention.

In remarks, the Grand Gedeh County Health Officer, Dr. Elsie G. Karmor, expressed gratitude to the health ministry for the project.

According to Dr. Karmor, the clinic has a staff of eight, including a certified midwife and other support staff.

Cutting  the  ribbon  to the estimated US$10,000clinic, the general  secretary of the Grand Gedeh Association  in  the  USA,  Mr. Johnnie  Gaye Chuway, pledged  his  organization’s support to government  in  meaningful  undertakings that will bring development to the county.
