BUCHANAN, April 14 (LINA) - Former Unity Party Senatorial candidate for Grand Bassa County, Jonathan Karbay, has declared his intention to contest the up-coming

mid-term senatorial election in the county on the ticket of the Liberty Party.

Karbay made the disclosure over the weekend at the United Methodist Guest House in the new Buchanan community.

He boasted that as a member of the Liberty Party, he will be a formidable candidate.

Karbay said when elected by the people of Bassa, he will fight poverty, corruption and backwardness in Grand Bassa County.

Karbay also promised to take the people of Bassa to the 'Promised Land'.

It can be recalled that in the 2013 by-election to fill the vacancy in the Senate occasioned by the death of John Whitefield, Mr. Karbay ran on the ruling Unity Party ticket, but was defeated by Nyonblee Karngar Lawrence of the Liberty Party.
