The Supreme of Liberia has ordered the release with immediacy two counselors–at-lawyer who were jailed Thursday by Judge Eva Mappy Morgan of the Commercial Court.

The high court’s decision came as a result of a Writ of Prohibition filed by former Solicitor General Cllr. Tiawo Gongole to the Supreme Court against Judge Mappy Morgan over the detention of Cllr. Milton Taylor and Cllr. Viama Blama at the Monrovia Central Prison.

Judge Eva Mappy Morgan Wednesday sent to jail the lawyer duo for 30 days for allegedly falsifying a document implicating her to a criminal transaction.

Cllr. Gongole claimed in his complaints that “Judge Eva Mappy Morgan‘s action was wrongful as well as an abuse of power.”

There are mixed reactions among lawyers at Temple of Justice over the detention of the two lawyers who spent their first night in jail on Wednesday at the Monrovia Central Prison.
