MONROVIA, May 20 (LINA)- Public Works Minister Antoinette Weeks is expected to appear before the House of Representatives on Thursday, May 22, to address the issue of roads in the country.
In a communication to the plenary of the House, Rep. Eugene F. Kpakar of District #1, Lofa County, expressed concern over the state of the Somalia Drive, Gbarnga-to- Konia, Fish Town to Maryland, Gbarpolu Road and Gbarnga- Mendicorma roads.
Minister Weeks, an environmental engineer, is the second engineer to serve as Minister of Public Works during the administration of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
The first minister, Luseni Donzo, left office after public outcry and legislative inquiry on the fate of the Jallah’s Town Road Project in Monrovia.
He was replaced by Samuel Kofi Wood, a non-engineer and lawyer.
