MONROVIA, May 23 (LINA) - The Executive Governor of the Central Bank

of Liberia, Dr. Joseph Mills Jones, has contributed L$7 million to the University of Liberia Student Union (ULSU) scholarship fund drive.

The fund drive is intended to assist students who cannot afford school fees on their own to enter school or continue their education.

Speaking Friday at the launch of the ULSU scholarship fund drive at the University of Liberia on behalf of Dr. Jones, Deputy Central Bank Governor Sheba Brown admonished the students to use the opportunity afforded them by Dr. Jones to receive quality education.

Presenting the check to ULSU leadership, Madam Brown called on the president of ULSU, Mr. Anthony Williams, to use the amount for the intended purpose and to stay away from corruption.

Receiving the check, Williams thanked Governor Jones for the opportunity afforded the many destitute students to acquire education.

Meanwhile, the Benoni Urey Educational Foundation has pledged an amount of L$200,000 to the ULSU fund drive.

Ms. Tella Urey, daughter of Mr. Benoni Urey, thanked ULSU for inviting the foundation to be a part of ensuring that students who do not have the means of going to school can have a chance to acquire education.
