ROBERTSPORT, May 24 (LINA) - Former Lands, Mines and Energy Minister Dr. Eugene Shannon has urged Liberian students to strive for sound and quality education to become productive future leaders.

He said the failure of the students to acquire good and solid education could render them incapable of assuming future leadership roles.

Dr.Shannon made the statement Friday when he spoke at a program marking African Costume Day at the Robertsport Day Care School.
He admonished the students to shun social activities that distract them and prioritize their education, so that their future will not be bleak.

Dr. Shannon observed that unless Liberian children are adequately educated, it would be difficult for them to compete with other students in the sub-region.

He said to ensure that children acquire sound education there is need for parents to support their children’s education.
