Senator Ballout Hails UNMIL Peace Efforts

HARPER, May 29 (LINA) -Maryland County Senator John Ballout has hailed the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) for contributing immensely to the democratic and governance process of Liberia since its arrival in the country in 2003.

The Maryland County lawmaker made the remarks Thursday in Harper City, Maryland County, at programs marking the observance of International Day of Peacekeepers.

Senator Ballout paid tribute to peacekeepers who have served United Nations missions throughout the world.
He promised the Liberian Government’s continued support to the UN Mission in Liberia in making its work easier.

During the program organized by the Maryland Contingent of UNMIL, a message from the United Nations Secretary General was read by the contingent head, Madam Corinna Vigier.

In his message, the UN Secretary General said that the UN will do all in its power to promote peace among all peoples of the world.
