ROBERTSPORT, June 5 (LINA) -The Principal of the Kongo Public School in Mano River Kongo, Porkpa District, Grand Cape Mount County, James L. Seitua, has said failure to renovate the school could lead to its indefinite closure.

He told the Liberia News Agency that all appeals to central authorities and other stakeholders to intervene to salvage the school have so far yielded no result.
Principal Seitua said the school, constructed in 1962 by the Government of Liberia, was badly hit by the civil conflict.
According to him, the current enrollment stands at 321, with 162 girls and 159 boys.
Mr. Seitua said it was regrettable that the school, which has graduated prominent Liberians who are in positions of trust in society, does not have anyone to come to its rescue.
He commended one of the graduates of the school, Tenneh Simpson Kpedebah, who is the development superintendent of the county, for her contributions to the institution.
He said besides the dilapidated condition of the building, the school is also facing the challenge of lack of chairs, compelling students to use cement blocks, rocks and other objects as seats.
Mr. Seitua regretted that the school cannot conduct classes during the raining season because the roof of the building is leaking.
