Maryland Completes 20 Projects In 2013

HARPER, Jan 2 (LINA) - Maryland County Superintendent Nazerene Brewer Tubman has disclosed that the county administration undertook 20 development projects in four districts at a cost of US$487,475 during the year 2013.

Superintendent Tubman in an exclusive interview with the Liberia News Agency in Harper Tuesday, named the districts which benefitted from the projects as Harper, Pleebo, Karluway and Barrobo districts.

She said in Harper District the county built an administrative building, while culverts were laid in Jacksonville Market, New Kru Town, Huffman Station, Spring Hill and Whole Garaway, all in the provincial capital.

Superintendent Tubman said the county administrative building, which houses the offices of the superintendent and other local officials, was part of the projects towards which the citizens contributed over 100,000 Liberian dollars.

She further disclosed that in Pleebo District a market building, guest house, health center and commissioner’s office, among others, were constructed.

Supt. Tubman said in Barrobo District, a district administrative building, commissioner’s office and district market were built, while in Karluway District a commissioner’s office, teacher’s residence and district administrative building, among others, were erected.
