GBARNGA, August 4 (LINA) - Bong County Health Officer (CHO), Dr. Samson K. Arzoquoi, has emphasized the need for people residing along the Liberia-Guinea border to report suspected Ebola cases and strange people found in their communities.

In a message to border towns at the weekend, he said reporting suspected Ebola cases and strangers, especially those found sick following the closure of the border, will help contain the spread of the killer disease.

Speaking in an interview with the Liberia News Agency Monday, Dr. Arzoquoi lauded the cooperation received from some of those living in areas that have been quarantined by county health authorities, but noted that others were violating the mandated out that this could affect others if not reported.

He disclosed that the health team visited several homes where suspected and confirmed cases have been reported, noting, "We will continue to do so until this disease is eradicated from the country."

“There is no time that we are needed more than during this critical period,” stressed Dr. Arzoquoi.

Meanwhile, he has clarified that contrary to claims that the County Health Team will spray all homes in the county, including Gbarnga City, the team is rather doing targeted spraying.

He explained that targeted spraying is where the team will spray homes with suspected and confirmed cases for the purpose of making them habitable for surviving family members.
