KAKATA, August 12 (LINA) – The 13th Judicial Circuit Court in Kakata, Margibi County opened its August Term Monday with 50 cases on its docket for trial during the term.
According to the Liberia News Agency, on the court’s docket are 24 criminal and 26 civil cases.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Judge A.Sakaiipo Wollor urged magistrates, lawyers and private prosecutors to make follow-ups on their cases, noting that “the court will not be the one to do so on their behalf.”
Judge Wollor said because no one has absolute monopoly over knowledge in the legal profession, the Court will solicit the inclusiveness and close collaboration of all legal practitioners for the attainment of transparent justice during the term of court
He noted that legal practitioners across the country must work as a team in the discharge of their duty because it was very important in the dispensation of justice to the aggrieved as their last resort to seek redress in the law.
In response to the judge’s charge, the Dean of the local Bar of Margibi County, Isaac Liverpool George, Jr., assured the judge of the Bar’s full cooperation in the adjudication of cases during the August term of Court.
He said as state prosecutor, his office to work closely with the court for the speedy dispensation of justice, adding that “the state will not persecute but rather prosecute people that are working outside the laws of the country”.
