GBARNGA, July 1 (LINA) - A  Liberian women delegation has left the country for Kigali, Rwanda to attend the Global Forum of Women in Parliament (WIP).

The group, headed by Bong County Senior Senator Jewel Howard-Taylor as Ambassador of the Liberian Chapter, includes Senator Geraldine Doe Sheriff, Clarice Alpha Jah and Madam Mallah Gbogar left the country on Monday.

KAKATA, July 1 (LINA) -Nurses at the C. H. Rennie Memorial Hospital in Kakata, Margibi County have abandoned work for fear of contracting the Ebola virus following the death of a patient last Thursday.

According to the Liberia News Agency, the nurses said they lack Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to treat any would-be Ebola patient at the hospital.

MONROVIA, July 1 (LINA) - President Ellen Johnson Sileaf has warned against concealing information about suspected Ebola cases, noting that it is illegal under Liberia’s public health law to expose other people to health hazards such as Ebola.

“Let this warning go out, anyone found or reported to be holding suspected Ebola cases in homes or prayer house will be prosecuted under the laws of Liberia, ” she said.

MONROVIA, July 1 (LINA) -The Health Ministry has reported that 49 persons have died from the Ebola disease in Liberia from 90 confirmed cases as at June 29.

A Health Ministry press release issued here Monday said the dead include five healthcare workers, 27 victims from Lofa County, 20 from Montserrado County and two from Margibi County.
