Zwedru City, Sptember 6 (LINA) - Grand Gedeh County Agriculture Coordinator, Alex Suah Mulbah, is encouraging residents of the county to think on animal husbandry as the eating of bush meat has been banned due to the Ebola disease outbreak.

He said animal husbandry will ensure the breeding of chickens, pigs, goats, sheep and cattle to provide3 the animal protein of the diet of Liberians.

Mr. Mulbah told the Liberia News agency that since the restriction was placed on the eating of bush meat as a preventive measure against the deadly Ebola disease, many people have resorted to eating fish.

He said fish farming has accordingly become an attractive business and encouraged investors to venture into it along side animal husbandry.

Meanwhile, Mulbah, who is newly-assigned to Grand Gedeh, has disclosed that his office is working with partners to avoid overlapping of projects and functions in the same sector and vicinity.

He said this is necessary as a recent survey showed a number of Non-Governmental Organizations were engaged in the same undertaking in the community same thing

He said his office has prevailed on agencies engaged in this practice to desist and instead spread scarce resources to other communities that need it to better their lot.
