The Ministry of Education and UNESCO are expected to take a 20-day nationwide tour between 10 February and 21 January to monitor and ensure that the reopening of schools is accompanied by strict adherence to Ebola preventive measures.

According to the Ministry of Education, Director of Communications, J. Maxime Bleetahn along with the Liberian National Commission for UNESCO team will carry out the assessment.
Accordingly, the exercise is intended to reinforce the preventive campaign against the deadly disease via series of community radio talk shows, photographs, videotaping and disseminating accurate information to the public regarding the re-opening of schools.
Throughout this period the team will emphasize the government's free tuition policy for basic education in public schools. The team will also explain to the local authorities—chiefs, elders, superintendents, parents and school administrators—about the Ministry’s protocols and necessary interventions.
