The Supreme Court of Liberia Friday began hearing in the Writs of Prohibition filed by aggrieved parties in the just-ended Mid-term Senatorial Election.

Writs of Prohibition have been filed against declared winners Cllr. Varney Sherman of Grand Cape Mount County; James Torlornah of Margibi County; Daniel Naathan of Gbarpolu County and Morris Saytumah of Bomi County.
Counsels of the plaintiffs and defendants were given 30 minutes each for arguments on the writs for and against their clients respectively.
The Court, however, postponed hearing into the National Patriotic Party (NPP) case for filing its briefs late and to enable the National Election Commission (NEC) file in its return.

Meanwhile, Chief Justice Francis Korkpor has announced that final determination in the complaints will be made next week, according to the Liberia News Agency.
