DEA Arrests Four for Money Doubling in Bassa

BUCHANAN, December 18 (LINA) – The Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Grand Bassa detachment has arrested four men for counterfeiting United States dollar notes in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County.

Making the disclosure to the Liberia News Agency Thursday, DEA Commander Major Joseph Taggedine said on Tuesday, the agency received a tip-off from residents of the Monrovia Junction in Buchanan about the dubious act.

The DEA commander named those arrested as Wesseh Johnson 42, Joseph Kollie 26, Abraham Barry 52 and Hanshu Jaru 26.

Major Taggedine said the four men are presently undergoing investigation at the DEA head office  in Buchanan.

Major Taggedine told LINA that one Ibrahim Kamara, a resident of Monrovia Junction was swindled of USD 65 and 3,500 Liberian dollars by the counterfeiters on the pretext of doubling his money.

Taggedine has meanwhile cautioned citizens not to transact business with people they do not know during this festive season.
