MONROVIA, October 28 (LINA) - The Vice President of the Liberia Business Association (LIBA), David K. Sembeh, has called on government to empower Liberian-owned businesses to enable them meet their corporate social responsibilities.

Sembeh said it was the Central Bank of Liberia’s (CBL) empowerment program to Liberian businesses through its loan scheme that positioned LIBA to donate to Ebola-affected communities.

But, Sembeh told the Liberia News Agency in Monrovia Monday that the CBL loan scheme has been put on hold by the National Legislature, creating the need for the central government to institute policies that will protect and promote Liberian businesses.

Meanwhile, the LIBA vice president is urging the government and Liberians not to be complacent over reports of reduction in the number of Ebola cases, encouraging them to continue to follow the preventive measures.
