MONROVIA, December 1 (LINA) -The Ministry of Education is uncertain about the date of re-opening of schools early next year, Deputy Education Minister for Instruction, Hawah Goll-Kotchi, has said.

She said although the ministry has the calendar for the academic school year, it is the government, through WHO and the Ministry of Health, which is clothed with the authority to declare when schools will re-open.

Goll-Kotchi made the remarks when she spoke to reporters at the Ministry of Education in Sinkor near Monrovia recently.

She said the Ministry has written a proposal to the Ministry of Finance to ensure that all public school buildings are sanitized and provided thermometers, chlorine and hand washing buckets for students and staff to apply preventive measures against the Ebola disease.

Goll-Kotchi noted that most of the public schools need renovation  before re-opening.
