MONROVIA, December 16 (LINA) – The President of the Liberia Marketing Association (LMA), Lusu Sloan, has appealed to NGOs and philanthropic organizations in Liberia to extend financial assistance to marketers to enable them continue their business ventures.
Sloan said the Ebola outbreak in the country has negatively impacted business activities, especially for marketers selling bush meat and those engaged in cross-border trade.
She made the statement at the Ministry of Information daily Ebola press briefing held at the ministry in Monrovia Tuesday, according to
the Liberia News Agency.
Sloan noted that some marketers who took loans from banks have been rendered incapable of repaying these loans due to the decline inbusiness activities occasioned by the Ebola outbreak.
She said financial assistance from NGOs and philanthropic organizations will enable the marketers revive and develop their businesses.
Meanwhile, the LMA president has expressed appreciation to health workers for taking the risk to return to work to save the lives of people who have contracted the Ebola virus.
