MONROVIA, October 29 (LINA) -The Bureau of Immigration and Nationalization (BIN) detachment in Grand Cape Mount County has stepped up patrol of border crossing points after receiving a pick-up from government.
According to BIN Commissioner Lemuel Reeves, patrol is crucial in the fight against the Ebola disease because there are several crossing points into Liberia from Sierra Leone, Guinea and Ivory Coast.
Commissioner Reeves made the statement during a recent tour of Robertsport, York Island and Bo Waterside in Grand Cape Mount County, which shares border with Sierra Leone where the Ebola virus is causing havoc.
He stressed that BIN officers deployed at various checkpoints and border posts should remain vigilant at all times, noting that the battle against the deadly disease should not be taken for granted.
The BIN boss also urged Liberians living along the border areas to cooperate with the BIN officers to prevent illegally crossings into Liberia as government and its partners strive to eradicate Ebola from the country.
