SANNIQUELLIE, November 11 (LINA) - Judge Emery Paye of the 8th Judicial Court in Sanniquellie, Nimba County has called for allocation of funds to the county’s judicial system in the County and Social Development Funds.

Speaking during the opening of the November Term of Court in Sanniquellie Monday, he noted that the judicial system is being sidelined in the disbursement of the funds when it is saddled with problems in dispensing justice.

“Like all other institutions in Nimba, the 8th Judicial Circuit Court also contributes to the growth, peace, and security of the county, and therefore should not be neglected,” he added.

Judge Paye also pointed out that the court faces capacity and material constraints that need to be addressed financially.
The County Development Fund (CDF) is an allocation of US$200,000 by government in its fiscal year budget to promote development in each county while the Social Development Fund (SDF) is money given by companies operating in a county as part of corporate social responsibility.
Last year, Nimba County collected about US$2 million for SDF, according to the Liberia News Agency correspondent in the county.
