KAKATA, November 14 (LINA) - The opposition Liberty Party (LP) has presented L$75,000 to nurses working in Margibi County as ‘a token of appreciation for their hard work’ in the fight against the Ebola virus.

“They are our national heroes and heroines in the face of the national medical emergency that has brought untold suffering and loss of lives,” said LP Assistant Secretary General Kla Edward Toomey when he presented the money at the C.H.  Rennie Memorial Hospital in Kakata on Wednesday.

Toomey said despite the loss of lives among health workers, the nurses have remained unwavering and dedicated in serving the Liberian people, adding, “The party will not forget the invaluable sacrifices rendered by them.”

He revealed that the Liberty Party has made similar donations in other counties with the support of its partisans at home and abroad.

Receiving the money, Margibi acting County Health Officer, Dr. Adolphus Yeiah, thanked the leadership of Liberty Party for the donation.
