MONROVIA, November 20 (LINA) – The National Legislature Thursday passed the 2014/2015 Fiscal Year Budget in the amount of US$660.2 million.

The budget was passed following opened and closed door discussions by both Houses of the parliament.

The budget is to constitutionally be passed by July 1 each year, but this year’s budget passage was delayed due to the health emergency occasioned by the Ebola outbreak in March and the subsequent State of Emergency.

The government has, however, been operating on one-twelfth of the 2013/2014 budget in keeping with the law.

The 2014/2015 budget is over US$100 million higher than the previous US$553.2 million budget.
