VOINJAMA, November 20 (LINA) -Marketers at the Voinjama Central Market are complaining about constant harassment by security officers of the Voinjama City Corporation (VCC).

The marketers told the Liberia News Agency in separate interviews that some employees of the VCC are in the habit of seizing their goods and also extorting money from them in the name of enforcing City Ordinances.

When contacted, the administrative Assistant to Voinjama City Mayor, Mrs. Yonguor Sherman, denied the allegation, saying “we have not instructed any of our staff to carry out such act.”

Meanwhile, the Liberia Marketing Association Superintendent for Voinjama District, Mrs. Esther Woiwor Charlie, is calling on authorities of the VCC to urgently intervene to address the matter before it creates embarrassment for the city administration at the market.
