S/Court Full Bench to Decide Sherman, Others Fate

Associate Justice, His Honor Philip Banks, who presides over writ of prohibition hearing involving the National Election Commission and several elected senators in the just-

ended senatorial election, has transferred the matter to the full bench of Supreme Court for determination.

A Wednesday citation from the higher court was submitted to all party lawyers in the case, including Cllr. Varney G. Sherman of Grand Cape Mount County, Jim Tornonlah of Margibi County and Morris Saytumah of Bomi County

The communications cited all lawyers to appeal before court on Fridays, January 16, 2015 at 9:00am at the Temple of Justice in Monrovia.

A week ago, a writ of prohibition was filed against the NEC by the Congress of Democratic Change (CDC) defeated senatorial candidates in Grand Cape Mount, Forley Kromah along with others defeated candidates.

They claim in their complaint that while investigation was ongoing NEC decided to certificate the particular senators-elect against whom they had filed the petition.

Cllr. Sherman, chairman of the ruling Unity Party, was expected to participate in the election for the President Pro-Tempore of the Senate which has been postponed for Thursday, according media reports.
