Despite the decrease in the price of petroleum commercial drivers are yet to drop the transportation fare resulting to outcry by the citizenry which has claim the attention of the government.

In respond to citizens cried the government of Liberia has announced the transportation fare in and around Monrovia which could bring relief for many commuters.
Deputy Information Minister for Public Affairs Isaac Jackson urged, commercial drivers to adhere to the government price regulation.
“If you getting in a taxi and have this sheet [transportation price sheet] and the driver say you should pay ten million dollars, get in the car but you should pay him according to the government price,” Jackson said.
Minister Jackson said, the government will not take lightly those who will violate the government regulation.
“If you want to make your own price government will not allow it, you get your taxes but the government price is the one you should go by,” Jackson added.
From Broad Street to city hall government say is now 15LD in taxis, 10LD in bus, Broad Street to 12th street 20LD in taxi, broad street 24th 25LD in taxi and 15LD in bus, broad street to Airfield 30LD in taxi, 20LD bus, Old Road 40LD in taxi, 20LD in bus, 45LD SKD Boulevard, 25LD bus, in taxi 45LD ELWA Junction, in bus 25LD, in taxi Redlight 60LD, in bus 35LD.
Minister Jackson added, that the decision to reduce the transportation fare is base on the 22% percent reduction in the sale of gasoline by the Liberia Petroleum Refining Corporation.
