MONROVIA, November 29 (LINA) -The Campaign Manager of Montserrado County independent senatorial candidate Maitta Fahnbulleh has called on senatorial aspirants to stop character assassination.

Gabriel Nyanti pointed out that instead they should stick to issues as a way forward during the senatorial electioneering process.

Speaking in an interview with the Liberia News Agency in Monrovia Friday, Nyanti noted that his candidate has divorced herself from political mudslinging, adding, “instead she will advocate for the human resource development of Liberian youth and women in the country.”

“My candidate is in the race to also combine a passion for performance with an acute social consciousness and to also help Liberia’s next generation move out of the shadow of war to positive change,” he continued.

He warned voters against electing people based on peer pressure, family or tribal lines, but rather on their ability to deliver the expectations and desires of the people.

Nyanti said if voters elect people in the Liberian senate only because of their popularity without examining their track records, Montserrado County will be under-represented, adding “this will not be good for the county.”

He warned voters against violence in the upcoming Special Senatorial election stressing, “We will still be friends after this election”.
