VOINJAMA, August 25 (LINA) -Efforts are underway by the Lofa County Health Team (CHT) and partners to reopen health facilities in Lofa County soon.

The Lofa County Health Officer, Mr. Josephus Borlongie, said this has been necessitated by advice from Dr. Clement Peter of the World Health Organization and public outcry.
According to the Liberia News Agency, the Lofa CHT and her partners, including Project Management Unit (PMU) and International Rescue Committee (IRC), are striving to have health facilities in Lofa County fully functional soon.
At the regular Ebola up-date coordination meeting held recently in Voinjama, Lofa County, representatives of the PMU and IRC said they have completed needs assessments at the various health facilities and are preparing to have them reopened.
The Health Manager for IRC in Lofa County, Mr. Emmanuel L. Bayor, said facilities that are being sponsored by IRC are going to be supplied medical equipment and drugs to resume service to the people.
Mr. Bayor called on health workers assigned to those facilities to return or be replaced if need be by the Lofa County Health Team.
He disclosed that the IRC Country Representative will soon be returning to Lofa County to support the county health team and the government in fighting the Ebola virus.
Meanwhile, Mr. Bayor has presented five cartons of personal protective equipment to the Lofa County Health Team.
