ROBERTSPORT, August 27 (LINA) - The Community Watch Forum of Liberia (CWFL) Grand Cape Mount County branch has disclosed that it has trained 600 members for Ebola sensitization campaigns.
The local CWFL Chairman Abraham Balo, who made the disclosure recently in Sinje in an interview with the Liberia News Agency (LINA), said the members were trained to buttress the efforts of the County Heath Team (CHT) in the fight against the Ebola virus.
He said the CWFL has taken the initiative to disseminate Ebola awareness messages to every town and village so that the people will be educated on the danger of the disease and to take preventive measures.
The CWFL local official said they started the Ebola prevention awareness campaign in towns and villages bordering Sierra Leone, where they virus is also raging.
Balo said besides sensitization, the members have also been trained in passing on information about Ebola suspects to health authorities in the county for proper redress.
Meanwhile, Mr. Balo is appealing to the government, local and international Non-Governmental Organizations to assist the forum with logistics, including vehicles and communication tools to make them more effective and efficient in the exercise. LINA DIR/TSS/PTK
