ROBERTSPORT, August 28 (LINA) -The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is conducting training for over 30 health workers in Grand Cape Mount County in Contact Tracing and Case Investigation.

This was disclosed by CDC Epidemiologist, Aimee Summers, during the County Ebola Task Force Coordination meeting held recently in Sinje Town, Garwula District.

The five-day training commences on Thursday, August 28, in Sinje.

She said the outbreak of the Ebola virus has claimed the attention of the CDC, which has dispatched experts to Liberia to help combat further spread of the virus.

The U.S Epidemiologist said while in the country, the CDC experts will provide series of training in the health sector that will empower health workers to perform their functions in a more professional manner.

Earlier, the head of County Health Team (CHT), Dr.Julius Garbo and the Superintendent of the County, Imam Mohammed A. Paasewe, thanked the CDC for taking the initiative to train health workers in the county.

Dr. Garbo and Superintendent Paasewe acknowledged that the fight against the spread of the virus cannot be won without the participation of foreign partners who have the expertise.

They urged citizens of the county to observe all preventive measures put in place by the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare to avoid the spread of the virus.
