GBARNGA, August 30 (LINA) – The ruling Unity Party has donated US$1,000 to the Bong County Ebola Response Task Force as its contribution to the fight against the disease.

Making the donation on Saturday here, UP Bong County Chairman Robert Flomo Woungbey said the donation is the party’s initial contribution as it joins the county in the fight to curb the spread of the Ebola virus.

Chairman Woungbey noted the danger of the killer disease which, he said, has claimed the lives of scores of Liberians and foreign professionals without discrimination.

He then called on partisans to support the task force as it strives to eradicate the virus which has no boundary and does not select its victims.

Responding, Bong County Superintendent and Chairperson of the County Ebola Task Force, Selena Polson Mappy, thanked the party for the donation, noting, “It would not have come at any better time than now.”

She lauded the ruling party’s resolve to tirelessly fight the virus at all fronts and hoped that the Ebola situation will soon come to an end so that Liberia can again return to normalcy.

”This Unity Party-led government has worked and continues to work to better the lives of citizens and even in this fight, party members are not sleeping but moving to every end of the county and country to ensure that success is scored in this fight,” Superintendent Mappy said.
