MONROVIA, August 30 (LINA) – The National Chairman of the Conscious Booker Washington Institute (BWI) Movement has underscored the need for Liberians from every sector to join the fight against the Ebola disease.
Chairman Blama Siryon said the Movement has donated more than 100 buckets and other protective materials to the people of Weala in Margibi Country to help prevent the spread of the deadly disease in that part of the country.
Siryon made the disclosure Friday in an interview with the Liberia News Agency in Monrovia as the Movement embarked on spreading Ebola prevention messages among young people across the country.
He indicated that the fight against Ebola should go beyond societal affiliations to ensure that the disease is kicked out of Liberia in the face of the alarming death rate and panic among Liberians.
He stressed that while government has put in place measures to restrict the movement of citizens to prevent the spread of the Ebola virus to other parts of the country, it is critical to fast-track responsive intervention from health authorities to save lives.
Chairman Siryon said the battle against Ebola should be tackled from every village, town and community across the country with all stakeholders getting involved to eradicate the disease.
The Conscious Booker Washington Institute Movement is a grouping of alumni of the BWI, a vocational and technical training school, in Kakata, Margibi County.
