TUBMANBURG, August 30 (LINA) - The Officer-in-Charge of the Jenneh # 3 Health Facility in Dewein District, Bomi County, Joseph Kanneh, has disclosed that UNICEF has donated Ebola prevention materials to the health facility.

OIC Kanneh named the materials as buckets, Clorox, aprons and powder soap, among others. He did not, however, attach cost to the items.

He pointed out that the Jenneh #3 Health Center has not recorded any Ebola case since the outbreak of disease in the country in March this year.

Speaking to the Liberia News Agency in an interview on Friday in Jenneh # 3 Compound, OIC kanneh said since the outbreak of the disease, the health facility has also not closed its doors to the public.

He said health workers at the clinic were attending to pregnant women, children and elderly people with malaria and other common diseases.

OIC Kanneh said the number of patients the hospital attended to before the Ebola outbreak was 45 daily, noting that this number reduced to 25 daily at the early outbreak of the Ebola disease.

He said at present the facility accommodates 15 patients to avoid overcrowding of the clinic.

He said at time the Liberian Government Hospital was closed in Tubmanburg, surgical and other complicated cases the health center could not treat were referred to Monrovia.

OIC Kanneh said pregnant women are given preferential treatment, especially when they are in labour pain.

He said health workers at the facility are educating the patients about the prevention of the deadly Ebola virus daily before administering medication to them.
