KAKATA, August 31 (LINA) - President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has praised Margibi County health workers for their relentless efforts in battling the deadly Ebola disease in the county.
She observed that Liberian doctors and nurses have placed their lives at the frontline to save their compatriots since the outbreak of the Ebola disease in the country last March.
According to the Liberia News Agency, President Johnson Sirleaf made the commendation Saturday at the Charles Henry Rennie Memorial Hospital in Kakata, the provincial capital of Margibi County, during an assessment visit to the hospital.
The Liberian leader said her visit was to encourage doctors, nurses and other staff, who are on the frontline in the fight against the Ebola disease, and to recognize the role they have played in the fight against the pandemic.
She said shortly before going to Kakata, she made a brief stopover at the ELWA National Ebola Treatment Center where she was much impressed to see two health workers, one of them a doctor from D. R. Congo and the other a Physician Assistant, Kyndy Kobbah, from the C.H. Rennie Hospital in Kakata.
President Sirleaf said she was extremely delighted when the physician assistant, Kyndy Kobbah, said to her: “Madam President, I am right behind you. I am going back to Kakata to do my job.”
“My spirit was lifted by such words of valor and commitment,” the Liberian leader added.
