TUBMANBURG, August 31 (LINA) -The Coordinator of the Bomi County Ebola Task Force, Superintendent Samuel Brown, says the Task Force has begun a house-to-house sensitization campaign on the Ebola disease.
Superintendent Brown said the exercise is necessary to reinforce the awareness campaign and possibly identify suspected Ebola victims who need to be quarantined.
Brown, who made the disclosure on Friday in Tubmanburg during a press conference, said the August 28 Ebola Statistics reveals that one person has survived the disease, while five persons confirmed with the virus are responding to treatment.
Quoting medical reports, the Task Force Coordinator said nine persons, including women and children suspected of the Ebola virus, are in the Quarantine Unit in Tubmanburg.
The medical report said 34 persons, including five health workers and three Ghanaians, have died of the Ebola virus in the county.
He said 55 new Ebola cases have been reported with 52 cases confirmed, while three are yet to be confirmed.
He said Ebola cases were reported from various parts of the county, with five communities in Tubmanburg most affected, including Joseph Town and Harmon Hill.
