MONROVIA, September 2LINA) - “All Liberians and partners must collectively join the fight to completely eradicate the Ebola virus from Liberia,” the Country Manager for SIMBA Energy Liberia Inc., Mr. George Garteh, has said.

Making a donation to the National Ebola Task Force through the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism recently, Garteh noted that “it is pathetic and disheartening to see our brothers and sisters dying almost on a daily basis due to this unexpected outbreak of Ebola in the county.”

Items donated by the SIMBA Energy management are a quantity of rice, buckets, and powder soap.

He hoped that “this minimum donation would be used for the intended purpose,” and thanked the government, especially President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, who he said has relentlessly worked to save lives and prevent the spread of the disease.

The SIMBA official also consoled families who lost their loved ones and commended the Liberian press through the Ministry of Information as well as the international community for the level of awareness being created for the prevention of the disease.

Simba Energy is engaged in oil exploration in Liberia.

Also making a donation were representatives of the Civil Society Enterprise who expressed concern about the prevailing Ebola situation, and advised the government and people not to relent in their quest to combat the virus.

Receiving the items, Deputy Information Minister for Administration, Norris Toweh, thanked the two groups for identifying with government, especially during this period of national disaster.

He promised to turn the items over to the appropriate authority for onward transmission to the Ebola target group.
