MONROVIA, September 3 (LINA) - A medical practitioner, Mr. Arthur B.Wah, is calling on government to establish temporary holding centers to offer psycho-social counseling to survivors of the Ebola virus after their quarantine period.

Wah said this was necessary because the centers would offer counseling to survivors to prepare them psychologically for the return to their various communities and the possible stigmatization they could face..

Speaking in an interview with the Liberia News Agency Tuesday, Wah, who once worked at the Du Side hospital, observed that to be declared an Ebola patient is traumatizing and that as such it is necessary to provide psycho-social counseling to survivors to for Ebola survivors before allowing them to return to their respective communities.

He supported calls by Montserrado County Electoral District #12 Representative Richmond Anderson for tests to be conducted on all residents of the country in addition to other measures put in place by the Liberian Government, such as the closure of all schools, leave for non-essential staff at ministries and agencies of government, the curfew and the closure of all markets at major borders.

OCPOL is among 15 political parties the accreditation of which was revoked by the Civil Law Court in May of this year, as a result of a petition filed by the National Elections Commission (NEC) on February 10, 2014.

The NEC revoked the accreditation of the parties for violating Articles 83(d) and 79 (c)(i) of the 1986 Constitution of Liberia as well as Part II, Chapter IV of the Guidelines Relating to the Registration of Political Parties and Independent Candidates.

Article 83(d) of the Constitution of Liberia makes it mandatory for every political party in Liberia to on September 1 each year, publish and submit to the NEC detailed statements of assets and liabilities.
