ZWEDRU, September 19 (LINA) -UN Police (UNPOL) Commissioner, Greg Hinds, has praised the leaders of Grand Gedeh County for putting in place mechanisms to prevent the Ebola disease from entering the county.

The UNPOL head was speaking at a briefing session he held with the local traditional council and civil society organizations during his recent visit to the country.
The session was held in the conference room of the administration building in Zwedru following a welcome ceremony and closed door meeting with the County Superintendent Peter L. Solo and his entourage.
Hinds lauded the County Ebola Task Force for its collaborative effort to combat the disease which has overwhelmed the country, adding that the virus has had a negative impact which must be erased in the shortest possible time for the return of normalcy in the country.
The UNPOL commissioner disclosed that a security meeting to consider concerns raised is underway and that county authorities will be duly informed about the joint effort to fight the disease to reduce suffering.
In remarks, the local Traditional Council chairman, David Nebo, called for more international support to Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in the fight against the virus.
For his part, assistant police director Phil Toby extended greetings from LNP Inspector General Chris Massaquoi and pledged the LNP’s fullest support in making the UNPOL official’s mission a success. The UNPOL commissioner and party also paid courtesy calls on the security apparatus, judiciary, UNMIL Sector 3B before departing Zwedru.LINA CTN/TSS/PTK
