HARPER, September 19 (LINA) - The newly-assigned Election Magistrate for Maryland County, Daniel Newland, has embarked on a tour of the 78 voting precincts in the county.
Magistrate Newland told the Liberia News Agency Friday in Harper that the tour is intended to familiarize himself with the local leaderships and residents of those precincts in anticipation of the suspended Mid-term Senatorial Election.
The Maryland County Election Magistrate, who has already visited 48 of the 78 voting precincts, earlier met with acting County Superintendent Nathaniel Toe.
Superintendent Toe congratulated him on his new assignment and promised to fully cooperate and support him in the discharge of his duty.
The tour has already taken Magistrate Newland to all four districts of the county -- Harper, Pleebo Soroken, Karluway and Barrobo where he was received by local leaders and citizens.
