MONROVIA, September 19 (LINA) - Montserrado County Representative Saah Joseph has disclosed that the Supervisor of his ambulances has been infected with the Ebola virus.

The lawmaker said the man, whose named he declined to disclose for family reason, is currently taking treatment at the Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) Ebola Treatment Center in Paynesville, outside Monrovia.

Representative Joseph, who made the disclosure Thursday in an interview with Legislative reporters, said the driver is responding to treatment.

He explained that the driver contacted the virus recently when he tried to provide food assistance to a sick child on one of the ambulances, the Liberia News Agency reports.

Representative Joseph assured that the infection of the driver will not deter him and his medical team from rendering services to the Liberian people.

Since the outbreak of the Ebola disease in Liberia, two of the Montserrado County District #13 Representative’s ambulances have been rendering free services to Monrovia and its environs by transporting Ebola sufferers and dead bodies 24 hours around the clock.

At the same time, Representative Joseph has announced that four additional ambulances are expected to arrive in the country from the United States shortly to beef up the strength of his medical team.
