BUCHANAN, September 19 (LINA) - President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has made donations of assorted materials, food and a vehicle to three hospitals in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, in support of the fight against the Ebola virus.

During a visit to acquaint herself with health facilities in Buchanan Thursday, President Sirleaf inspected the Arcelor Mittal Hospital, Liberian Government Hospital and the St. Peter’s Catholic Health Center.

According to the Deputy Chief of Protocol at the Executive Mansion, Ethel Holt Toes, President Sirleaf donated 50 bags of rice, 50 pieces of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) and an undisclosed amount of cash to each of the three health facilities for health workers and patients.

She said the president also donated to the Government Hospital a pickup to enhance its anti-Ebola efforts.

President Sirleaf’s visit coincided with the Grand Bassa Ebola Task Force’s Thursday closed door meeting at the Executive Pavilion on the Fairground in Buchanan which, according to the deputy chief of protocol, the president attended also.
