TUBMANBURG, October 1(LINA) - The Engineering Battalion of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) is in Bomi County to construct an Ebola Treatment Unit (ETU) in the capital Tubmanburg, an official of the county has disclosed.
Bomi County Superintendent and Coordinator of the County Task Force, Samuel Brown, said tan advance team of the AFL is conducting assessment and will commence the construction work as soon as the assessment is completed.
Speaking to a team of journalists in Tubmanburg on Monday, Brown said the construction of an ETU will afford Ebola victims the opportunity to be treated in the county instead of being transported to Monrovia.
Mr. Brown also revealed that the County Task Force has set up four committees to help contain further spread of the Ebola virus.
He named the committees as the Case Management, Coordination and Information Management, Social Mobilization and Care and Support or Psycho-Social Committees.
He said the committees will work along with the Task Force and the County Health team to conduct research on the nature of Ebola cases and make recommendations for appropriate actions.
